CURRENT PROJECT

ALBOROTÁ

Alborotá, is the latest single & forthcoming LP by Colombian singer-songwriter, Alea. This feminist declaration celebrates each being that identifies as a womxn. The word "alborotá", which means "rowdy" and is often used as a pejorative term, is reclaimed by Alea to signify empowerment.

Alborotá describes Alea’s story, as well as the stories of thousands of womxn that have been forced to conform to roles and expectations imposed by society. Alea's story is intended to inspire womxn to break the silence on issues like identity, sexual abuse, and inequality.

When discussing her song, the talented singer-songwriter says,

“Being an Alborotá is an act of courage that transcends gender; it is being true to who you are and fighting for your dreams and beliefs in spite of what people have to say."

Alborotá has been thoughtfully released in a series of singles, accompanied by poignant, well-crafted videos. The album in its entirety will be released in May of 2021, tour dates will be scheduled pending the availability of dates at the end of the pandemic.
