Primero Sueño: A Processional Opera

Primero Sueño, is a processional opera telling the story of 17th century Mexican icon Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz with music that includes Magos Herrera as Sor Juana and vocal ensemble Sjaella, with instrumentals performed by Luca Tatantino and Celso Duarte
The premiere will be staged at the Cloisters at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in January 2025. The touring production will have flexible staging to fit a wide range of performance spaces. The work is directed by Louisa Proske with Choreography by Jorrell Lawyer-Jefferson, Masks by David Miguel Herrera and Costumes by Andrea Lauer.
The composers are seeking four (4) additional co-commissioners to join the Met Museum.
